Vocalist, MC & Songwriter
Carly Ciarrocchi is a Brooklyn-based singer, MC, DJ, songwriter, and actor. Since 2012, she has been known a host and writer for the Emmy-nominated "Sunny Side Up" show for preschoolers on the Sprout network, which broadcasts every morning out of the legendary 30 Rockefeller Center. Carly excels in writing for a younger age group, focusing on easily-learned and repeatable melodies and lyrics. Her mastery of simple songwriting can be seen in a multitude of music videos from Sprout–many of which have over 100,000 views on YouTube–and in her recent vocal and writing contributions to (fellow "Sunny Side Up" host and Bfast Studios Creative Director) Tim Kubart's 2015 album for families, Home.
As a teaching artist, Carly is a proud emeritus company member of Barrel of Monkeys, a theatre and education company that teaches writing workshops in Chicago public schools. The ensemble of actor-educators then takes the students' stories and adapts them into sketches and songs and returns to the schools to perform them. She currently performs with NYC's similar stories-to-stage company, the Story Pirates. Other classroom experience includes workshops for high school students and faculty relating to LGBTQ issues as a performer/teaching artist with About Face Youth Theatre's outreach tour.
Outside her various creative endeavors, Carly practices yoga (hot yoga and AcroYoga!), box and rides her bike as often as she can.
